Students who arrive late to school must report directly to the attendance office to sign in. Students are expected to be in class to begin work when the bell tone sounds at 7:30 a.m.
Please remember that students are only allowed to leave the building with parent/guardian permission. You have 2 options to report any absence:
Report it right into your ParentVue Account by pressing Report Absence next to your students name and in the Note section state the time of the early dismissal or late arrival then hit SAVE. This is the #1 preferred option.
- Call the attendance line at 248-726-5310. Please SPELL your students first and last name. Without a spelling the name the absence could get missed.
Regardless of their age, students are NOT permitted to call themselves out. Only a parent or legal guardian can call a student out.
Students who are "excused absent" should see each teacher upon returning to receive missed assignments. It is the student's responsibility make up the work.
Partial and Full Day Absences can be added in ParentVue.
When students are leaving the building for any reason during the school day, they must properly sign out in the Attendance Office to receive an excused absence.
Attendance Policy and Procedures:
- Excused Absences: Parents/guardians are asked to call the 24-hour attendance number, (248) 726-5310, no later than 12:00 noon the school day following the absence. Any absence not covered under the excused or exempted guidelines will be considered unexcused.
- Partial Absences: When students are not able to be present during their zoom calls, they must have an excused absence for the time they will be missing. Parents, please inform the attendance secretary.
- You can also put in your students absence through ParentVue.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Emergency Order Under MCL 333.2253 requires school districts to report school associated cases of COVID-19 within 24 hours after being notified by the local health department. A school associated case includes a case of probable or confirmed COVID-19 among students, teachers, staff members, coaches, volunteers, or any other person who was present on school property or at a school function that may result in the transmission or contraction of COVID-19 during an infectious period. Having cases present in school buildings does not indicate that the person's exposure occurred at school. Click here for more information.
